Repost: Time on Our Hands

Steve

This week, we're taking a step back in time to look at time itself. It fits in nicely with water, which holds, as I mentioned in last week's post, power over all other things. Except, perhaps, time.

Particularly, as I quote in the article, mind time, which is not the same as physical time, that 24 hour clock we are all familiar with, is time perceived by one, not by any other.

Mind time is influenced instead by the number of images the brain encounters. As we age, the speed and quality of these images decreases because of many reasons—vision, brain complexity, degradation of neuro pathways—all of which, psychologists believe, lead us to enjoy fewer new experiences, which means we create fewer new memories, which leads to a feeling of time speeding by.

The difference between the two, as we experienced upon arriving in Sicily and began attending events around town, quite literally drove us mad.

Read how, or "read-again" how, at the link below.

Stay tuned next week as we we revisit the last days of our bakery, Alimentaire Wholesome Breads.
